With over a 2,000ft elevation gain over only 2.5 miles, the trek to the summit of Ha Ling Peak was hardest hike of our trip in Canada. It took us roughly 2 hours up and 1.5 hours down, after spending some time enjoying the outstanding views from the summit, it took us a total of 4 hours to complete. Be sure to take your time, bring plenty of water, trekking poles may be helpful, and it is not advised to bring short-snout dogs. Also, keep in mind it is a level 1 scramble to the summit with a steep incline, best to hike mid-May to mid-October.
